Re-roof and exterior renovation in progress — Skystone Homes LLC project

A useful roofing estimate describes the work, materials, removal, installation details and how unexpected damage is handled. Ask questions before comparing totals.

Make the scope understandable

Ask which roof areas are included and whether old materials will be removed. The estimate should identify the proposed covering and related components rather than simply saying replace roof.

Flashing, penetrations, edges and ventilation affect roof performance. Confirm which of these will be replaced or retained and why.

Discuss concealed damage and changes

The condition of decking may not be fully visible until old materials are removed. Ask how additional work will be photographed, priced and approved.

Changes should be documented before they are treated as agreed work. This protects both homeowner and contractor from misunderstandings.

Confirm logistics and cleanup

Ask where materials will be delivered, how landscaping and access will be protected and how debris will be removed. Discuss weather dependencies and occupied-home concerns.

Request the details of any product coverage or workmanship terms in writing. Do not infer warranties from a general statement about quality.
